የጉዞው አንደኛው ምክንያት ከሻእቢያ ጋር ህብረት በማድረግ የትግራይ ህዝብ ለብልጥግና እጅ እንዲሰጥ ማድረግ ነው። በተለይ የክልሉ መንግስት ምርጫ አካሂዳለሁ ማለቱና የምርጫ አስፈፃሚ መምረጡ አብይን እረፍት እንደሚነሳው አያጠራጥርም። ዝም እንዳይል ጥርስ አልባ አንበሳ መሆኑ ይጋለጣል። ጦርነት እንዳይጀመር መጨረስ እንደ መጀመር ቀላል አይሆንም። ፓርቲውም ቢሆን ሊነግሩን እንደሚሞክሩት ጠንካራ cohesion የለውም። በኦሮሚያ ከዚህ በፊት ጥያቄ ካነሱት በተጨማሪ በርካታ ካድሬዎች በተለይ በነዚህ ሶስት ሳምንታት ገሃድ የወጣ አሀዳዊ መንግስት እያገለገሉ መሆኑን ተረድተዋል። የደቡብ ክልል አመራሮችም የጠቅላዩ አሃዳዊ እይታና ጥሩ ኢትዮጵያዊነትን እግሬ ስር ተቀምጣችሁ ተማሩ ማለት ፈፅሞ እንደማይስማማቸው ይታወቃል። ራስን ለማስተዳደር የሚያነሱትን ጥያቄ እጅግ simplistic በሆነ መንገድ V8 ለመንዳት የሚደረግ እሽቅድድም ብሎ ደጋግሞ ወርፏቸዋል። በአማራ ክልል ለጊዜው ድጋፍ ያገኘ ቢመስልም ያ የሚቀጥለው የኦሮሞ ፖለቲከኞችና ምሁራንን ቀርጥፎ እስከበላላቸው ድረስ ብቻ ነው። ከዛ በኋላ እንደሚነሱበት ጥርጥር የለውም። ለዶ/ር አምባቸውና ለምግባሩ ያልሆነ ክልል ለኦህዴዱ አብይ ይሆናል ማለት መቼም ፌዝ ነው። ለጊዜው በአሃዳዊ ህልም ከነሆለለና ለዝርፊያ ከተደራጀ urbanite ውጪ ምንም ማህበራዊ መሰረት የሌለው አብይ ጦርነት ጀምሮ የማገባደድ አቅም የለውም። በመሆኑም ከውጪ ሃይል ጋር በትብብር የገዛ ሀገሩን ህዝብ በወታደራዊ ሃይል የመጨፍለቅ ህልም አለው።  በዚህም መሰረት የኤርትራ ወታደራዊ ማሰልጠኛ ሳዋን በመጎብኘት የመጀመሪያው መሪ ሆኗል። የለየለት አምባገነን ሆኖ ለመግዛት አስፈላጊ የሆኑ ትምህርቶችን እየቀሰመም ተግባራዊ እያደረገም ነው። ሆኖም ከትግራይ ጋር ያለውን ልዩነት በዚህ መልክ መፍታት ቀላል አይሆንም። የሌላውን ክልል ህዝብም በወታደራዊ ሃይል በቋሚነት እገዛለሁ ማለት ቂልነት ነው። የት ድረስ እንደሚያስኬደው የምናየው ይሆናል።

ሌላኛው የጉዞው ምክንያት ከግብፅና ሱዳን ጋር የሚደረገው ድርድር ላይ የአሸማጋይነት ሃላፊነት የወሰደው ኢሳያስ የሚለውን ለመስማት ነው። ከሁለት አመታት በፊት ተደማጭነት የሌላት pariah state የነበረችው ኤርትራ ዛሬ በግድቡና ቀጠናዊ ጉዳዮች ላይ major power broker እንደሆነች እየተዘገበ ነው። ኢሳያስ በቀጠናው ላይ ተሰሚነቱን ለመጨመር ግድቡ ላይ አይኑን ጥሏል። ውስብስብ ዲፕሎማሲ ላይ እምብዛም ለሆነው አብይ ኢሳያስ ድርድሩን በውክልና እያካሄደለት ነው ቢባልም ማጋነን አይሆንም። በነገራችን ላይ ለበርካታ ወራት ግድቡን እንሞላዋለን ሲባል የነበረው ከሰማይ በቀጥታ ቋቱ ውስጥ በሚዘንብ ዝናብ ነበር እንዴ? እንሞላዋለን ከተባለ ሶስት ሳምንት ቢያልፈውም  አንዴ ጀምረናል አንዴ አልጀመርንም አንዴ በተፈጥሯዊ መንገድ ማለታችን ነው የሚል ማደናገሪያ እየተለቀቀ ነው። ለነዚህ ጥያቄዎች መልስ መስጠት የማይችለው መንግስት ጠንካራ ጥያቄ ይጠይቃሉ ብሎ ያሰባቸውን ፖለቲከኞች አስቀድሞ ሰብስቦ በማሰር ከተጠያቂነት አምልጧል።

ለማንኛውም የኢትዮጵያ ፖለቲካ ወደ ወሳኝ ምእራፍ ተሸጋግሯል። በበርካታ ክልሎች ቅቡልነቱ የወረደው አብይ ከእንግዲህ ያለው ብቸኛ አማራጭ ሃይልን ተጠቅሞ የአንድ ፓርቲ አምባገነናዊ ስርአት መዘርጋት ነው ብሎ ያምናል። ከዚህ በፊት "ምርጫ የማያደርጉ ሀገራት አሉ። ምርጫ ማድረግ ግዴታ አይደለም" ብሎ እንደነገረን ከእግዲህ የምርጫን ጉዳይ ያነሳል ተብሎ አይጠበቅም። እንኳን ሀገራዊ ምርጫ በፓርቲ ደረጃ ጉባኤ ለማድረግና የብልጥግናን ፕሬዚደንትና ምክትል ለመምረጥ እስካሁን ምንም ፍላጎት የለውም። በሚስጥራዊ ድምፅ አሰጣጥ የጉባኤ ምርጫ ቢካሄድ ከሚጠበቀው እጅግ ያነሰ ድምፅ እንደሚያገኝ በሚገባ ያውቃል። በዚህም ምክንያት በቅድሚያ በሚደረግ ግምገማ ብዙ ሰዎችን ከፓርቲው ማራገፍና የተቃዋሚ ፓርቲ አመራሮችን በሀሰት ክስ እንዳሰረው ሁሉ የተለየ ሃሳብ ያላቸውን የራሱ ፓርቲ አመራሮች ማሰርና ማስወገድ የመጨረሻው እርምጃ ይሆናል። ሌሎች ተቀናቃኞች ቢወገዱ እንኳን በሶስት መሪዎች ስር ምክትል ሆኖ የሰራው ደመቀ መኮንንም (ስለሺ ስህን) የፓርቲ ፕሬዚደንትነቱን ቦታ መመኘቱ open secret ነው። የጊዜ ጉዳይ ነው። መናከስ ይጀመራል። አሁን መንግስትም ሆነ ፓርቲ የሚባል ነገር የለም። ያለው ግለሰብ ነው። አንድ ፈላጭ ቆራጭ ሁሉን በያኝ ግለሰብ። ሌላው ሳያወላዳ ትእዛዝ መፈፀም ብቻ ነው። ነገ ወደ አዳማ የሚያመራው ንጉሱ ጥላሁን አንድ ውይይት ላይ ለምን ጉዳይ ነው የምትሄደው ሲባል ስደርስ ነው የሚነገረኝ እንዳለው ማለት ነው። አብይ ይህ አምባገነናዊ ጉዞው መጨረሻ ላይ እንደሚከሽፍ እርግጥ ነው። ጥያቄው በዚህ ሂደት ሀገሪቱስ ትተርፋለች ወይስ አስቀድመን እንሰናበታት ነው።

What is really happening in Ethiopia?

Why do commentators keep saying "Ethnic tension?" When basically the tension is between a dictatorial unitary regime and the nation and nationalities of Ethiopia? Specifically with the Oromo nation.

What had happened following hachalu's assassination? Let's take a closer look.

A, 239 died.

This is the official report of the government but the death toll might be even higher than this. 

Now if I may ask how and where did all these people die?

As anyone can confirm it for himself from different sources the only places where there was ethnic communal violence were in Arsi, Shashemene, and Batu areas. 

Again according to the government report only 56 people died in those areas. 

Ok, so let's say all 56 people died of communal Ethnic violence so who killed the rest 193? And where did they die? We know they were not living in the areas that communal violence was reported, so where and why did they die?

They were killed by government security forces.

All the mumbo-jumbo about Ethnic tension and Ethnic communal violence is to put a blanket on this verity.

B, More than 7k arrested

Again this is the official number of the gov spokesperson so keep in mind that it might be even higher than this.

As I mentioned earlier, the communal violence occurs in the three places only - Shahemene, Arsi, and Batu. 

But the arrests are happening all over Oromia. And the targets are members of opposition political parties. This is a clear inkling that the ruling party is after ousting its political opponents, not after enforcement of Law and order.

The past couple of weeks has been more difficult than ever. We have lost one of the greatest Oromo singer, songwriter, activist, and revolutionary in Hacaalluu Hundeessa. He crafted songs and melodies that made sense of the angst in us and put a fire under our bellies and prepared the entire nation for revolution, and we did.  He pumped our sense of pride and made us feel alive, hopeful, and fight on. But Abiy took this irreplaceable giant, brilliant son, and the conscious of the nation  away from us.   

Abiy didn’t only kill Hacaalluu, but he also imprisoned our Jawar Mohammed and countless many other political and civic leaders to his newly built gulags.  By killing Hacaalluu and imprisoning Jawar, he effectively declared the war of distraction on the Oromo nation. Let there be no doubt about Abiy’s intentions- he wants the Oromo nation to be a subservient to his neo-Nafxanyaa cousins and to rebuild Ethiopia of yester years.   

War is declared on us and we should clearly and unequivocally stand together. Our first priority should be to free our leader Jawar Mohammed and other political leaders.  Jawar Mohammed and his platoon Qeerroos are the ones that bulldozed the TPLF regime from power two years ago and paved the way for the current brutal gov’t.  Jawar went home to be among his people almost two years ago. He was asked numerous times about his safety after his return home. His answers always was, “I am among my people that I trust and I will die defending them right here”. He kept his promises and never flinched once and stood taller than anyone and unequivocally articulated our people’s yarn for freedom and justice.  After all, he got there with the resilience of our Qeerroo martyrs. He taught us to be grounded in the core principles of Oromumummaa and protect against charges of those wanting to derail us and against those Bilixigiina criminal entrepreneurs of deception that are desperately planting the seeds of regionalism, religious differences, and ethnic hate.

Jawar always placed the mission first: Oromo Frist. I think it is worth reminding ourselves what Jawar meant to our nation and to our struggle. My intention here is not only to highlight how much we appreciate him and love him and who Jawar really is and what drives him to be selfless and work 24/7 for our cause, but also to remind each other that we should be fighting for him 24/7 for his freedom. Jawar is and was a formidable intellectual and is a soldier of our nation. He led his platoon Qeerroos remotely to victory. He still commands millions of young Oromo Qeerroos. His prominence amongst his people is unparalleled. He put his Ivy League education not for his personal gains, but for freedom of our nation. He graduated at the top of his classes from not one but two Ivy League colleges. He was never phased by the glamour life he could have had has he perused lucrative careers with his education, but instead went to work for our people. He worked for us 24/7 and now is our turn to work even harder to get him out of Abiys’ gulag. He was sleepless for us in our dark days providing leadership to his Qeerroo brigades; it is our turn to return that favor and stand for him and demand and fight for his release.  

Remember, Jawar was never commissioned to lead the Oromo, but he took it upon himself because he cared. The love for his country and his sense of freedom and justice is what forever heightens his conscious and that became his life. He is courageous, loyal to the service of his country, duty bound and selflessly serve to liberate his people with honor, respect, and integrity. Jawar always said he will never accepts defeat and surrender. This should be our motto as well. As Jawar was workaholic when it comes to the duties of our people, we shouldn’t expect any less from ourselves to work day and night for his freedom. Everyone knows Jawar is loyal to the cause and those who were lucky enough to work with him know what drives him and marvels at his dogged loyalty to our people and adherence to the tenets of honor, integrity, fairness, and truth. He compassionately approaches the young and the old with immense patience. He wholeheartedly embraced and lived for the founding and guiding principles of Oromomummaa and for justice for all marginalized communities in Ethiopia. 

Jawar’s reach is beyond Oromo causes. He has championed the cause of all and especially for those marginalized communities with the same fate as Oromos. He never asked for anything in return and it is time for all marginalized communities to stand for him and fight for his freedom as well. He made the cause of every oppressed nations and nationalities of Ethiopia his cause. He believed in the principles of Martin Luther King Jr. “injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere”. He is a leader like no other with millions on his side that is taking the bull by its horn guided by the Gadaa principles of liberty, equality, humanity and justice for all. He made us proud and we are lucky he is one of us. 

Jawar always said “I will never be silenced, quit nor will I give in to cowards”. What drives Jawar is the brutality of Bixigiina and Abiy Ahmed. He sees and listens to the voices of our people’s call for freedom and he could not shield himself from the brutality that is being perpetrated against our people in Oromia by Abiy’s and his Bixigiina monsters. He sees countless of our people and other marginalized community members gunned down every day by Abiy’s security forces while holding a peaceful demonstration for justice and freedom to live in their own country. Abiy wants to silence Jawar for good. We all know if Jawar isn’t in Abiy’s gulag today, he would have avenged our brother Hacaalluu’s killers. He is calling upon all of us to stand in unison and demand justice for Hacaalluu. He is calling upon all us to rise up and do something to the cries of the innocent souls being murdered by Abiy that is haunting him in the dark, underground, and cold prison dungeon cell.  

Jawar is never afraid. But it was quite emotional for me and I believe for many of you to seeing him in handcuffs by the same people that he helped usher to the top position to lead the country during the transitional period. But it also resolute us to never back down. It was the wanton carnage of the TPLF that gave birth to Jawar. It is the killing of our people and the yearning for justice and freedom that gave birth to Jawar. Abiy’s cruelty is even worse like no other. The forced disappearances, torture, abject poverty and the displacement of our people reached a new height. Our existence as a people and as nation is under serious threat. If this doesn’t bog our conscious, what will? Jawar gave us the tools and showed us how to topple despotic regime. He built a simple platform for us-OMN, and used it to advance the nonviolence alternate means of freeing the nations of Ethiopia from the clutches of Wayyannee. He showed us how to virtually connect with one another and with other oppressed people to be one, and against our common enemy. Abiy want to silence that voice and we say NO and never and ever. Thanks to Jawar, we now have the tools and the know-how. Jawar released many from the clutches of the former enemy, we can get him out of Ashagree’s gulag. 

Jawar will never leave his people in the dark and we should do everything in our power to get him out. We owe to him as he owed to his people when the going was tougher. Our conscious should not allow us to rest while the likes of Lencho Batii and many other diaspora hyenas for whom he fought for their return home are collaborators of the Ashagree regime and chase after our people. The least we can do: let us stand shoulder to shoulder now and get our Jawar out of the Ashagree gulag and set ourselves free for once and for all.

Today, I am reaching out to you regarding your employee who is closing and deactivating FB accounts of Oromo individuals who are critical of Ethiopian government. Oromos are the marginalized and targeted ethnic group in consecutive Ethiopian regimes. 

Tinbit Berhanu, who recently joined FB Dublin office has close ties to Ethiopia govt who is actively closing FB accounts of oromo activists and politicians only because they are oromo and being voice for their people. Sofar, tens of Oromo activists and politician accounts were closed and deactivated without any notice and warning. 

I think this kind of activities are against Facebook value. I kindly request you to look into the acts of Tinbit B closely and stop targeting oromo voices on FB social media platforms.

I read with a great sadness Brother Bekele Garbaabaa’s statement given to the court during his court appearance today, July 15, 2020.

Brother Bekele Garbaa is an honest and credible person. He is an epitome of integrity. I believe that the statement he gave to the court, I believe he gave it under oath, is the true story of the circumstances their arrest; Bekele Garbaa, Jawar Mohammed and probably Hamzaa Boranaa.

It is evident that their arrest was part of the Ethiopian regime’s preplanned crackdown on the opposition. It was setup.

Jawar, Bekele and all political prisoners have committed no crime, they are innocent and they must be released without any preconditions.

Sooner or later justice will prevail.

The Prime Minister's Gambles

Abiy Ahmed is a gambler. He takes risks. Some of his past gambles were good and had paid off but his latest gamble risks plunging the country into its depths. He might see this crisis as an opportunity to further consolidate power by eliminating his adversaries and muzzling critical voices. The attempts of his government to blame all his political adversaries - Egypt, TPLF, OLF-Shanee, Jawar/OMN as a part of a joint enterprise carefully crafted to destabilize Ethiopia is one of the earliest indication of this. It is laughable but can be an excellent smokescreen to move against his political foes. 

The political show trial against Jawar Mohammed, Bekele Gerba and others, and the widespread crackdown against critical voices bears the hallmarks of a witch hunt orchestrated by the regime to expunge its political foes from the political sphere. Just like EPRDF 1 perverted the institutions of law and order, Abiy's Prosperity Party is instrumentalising the justice system to achieve political ends. This must worry anyone who believes in democracy and the rule of law as values worth upholding. 

I am all for accountability and justice but this is an essentially political problem that requires a political solution. The country is on the brink and the PM is not showing leadership. But he still can. He can release all prisoners, and work towards an all-inclusive national dialogue that would chart Ethiopia's path to political settlement and democracy.

What is next for haccalu, Oromo and Ethiopia?

The government seems to figure out the assassin of hachalu before police investigation. 😕 hmmm,

Starting from the very first day of hachalu's assassination the government as an entity and officials has been engaged in non-stop accusations and judgmental incriminating allegations.

It is very interesting to see the very responsible party, the government, that was supposed to make sure of the principle of "free until proven guilty" is respected, turns out to violate the principles, and opening propaganda warfare on its political opponents. 

This by itself, has a lot to say. 

Instead of trying to find out the real criminal behind the murder of hachalu the deeds of the government not only seems to be an act of covering up the trails but also is a clear indication that the government is trying to exploit the situation at hand for its own political agenda.

By now all of the following have been incriminated by Abiy Ahmed's government

1- Egypt

2- TPLF (the Tigray people liberation front)

Abiy Ahmed's propaganda machines are bringing Egypt into this mess in an attempt of buying a popular support from Ethiopians. This kind of attempt is not new in the spectrum of Ethiopian politics. The previous regime also used to link its oppositions with Egypt. Has it worked out for it? No. Will it work now? Somehow, maybe. 

This time around its not only the government that is trying to link oppositions with Egypt. The far right-wing media and "The former oppositions the now mouthpieces of the government" are also trying to link Egypt with Oromo politicians and tplf.

This coordinated attempt might get the attention of the ultra-Ethiopian supremacists. Apart from the ultra-nationalist cabin, it surely will not penetrate through the hearts of the Oromo people and the majority of nations and nationalities of Ethiopia.

 Assuming the regime will stay on power for a considerable amount of time

What's next for the judiciary procedure of hachalu's murder?

A, to be forgotten and overlooked by new cooked up agendas.

 This was particularly what happened to the cases of the killings of high profile individuals like that of the chief of staff major general seare mekonnen and the head of the Amhara regional state Dr ambacbhew.  The complicity of security forces during the communal violence following hachalus death suggests the intention of the regime to cook new attention-grabbing agendas.

B, The government will dare to sentence prominent Oromo figures by fabricated evidence.

Looking closely at the unspeakable madness of the regime this is also a very likely scenario. 

What's next for the regime and the Ethiopian state?

Only time will tell. But I can say that the current move of the regime is like putting a rubber stamp on the total wreckage of the already fractured state of Ethiopia.

Why does the International community keep silent?

It's very early to comment on the silence of the International community but if this silence continues to grow on, there could be no plausible reason other than the GERD. In due time the deal behind the GERD will eventually come out to light. 

And if the reason behind the silence is GERD, that means the silence will only continue until the rainy season of Ethiopia comes to an end. I am sure that the International community will not sit aside and watch Ethiopia becoming the new Libya under its nose.
