The human rights you claim to defend is very much that of the 'human' you define as such. When you are working from a particular cultural framework that dehumanizes some, you are no more defending the human rights of all. In fact, you are not defending any human rights at all; you are simply meting out violence on those you have already dehumanized (implicitly or explicitly). The actual content of your claim to false universals ('human') is only a list of your own particular political interests. Your opponents' human rights are not intelligible to you because their humanity is not legible to you--or you have already wished them away through a silent thought process of dehumanization.
